Our Mission

 LATO's mission is simple: We help impoverished children and their families live a better life through providing basic human needs such as food, clothing, and shelter. We also believe the path to a brighter future is through education. LATO helps provide that education by building and renovating schools, and pairing up students with sponsors who will pay for their schooling costs.
While much of our work is in the founder's homeland of Vietnam, LATO also serves refugee families in California as well as providing humanitarian relief in times of great need, like during natural disasters.
Founded in 1997 by Leyna Nguyen, an Emmy-Award winning journalist, LATO is changing thousands of lives...one at a time. Thank you for helping us help others.
